Religion has been one of my personal passions and interests throughout life and I consider it my utmost privilege to be able to teach a subject as fascinating, important and relevant as world religion. I believe that a thorough understanding of our world's religions is absolutely vital to understanding both the development of history and our world today. Although this course is only a semester long, I consider it a cornerstone in the development of knowledge, critical thinking and empathy that will enable students to become mature and informed scholars, able to understand, interact and influence their world and generation. I grew up in Fresno, CA and did my undergraduate work in Philosophy at UC Berkeley. Graduating in 2003, I originally intended on pursuing a career in law, but this plan was cut short after I caught a vision for public education. I haven't looked back since, and though I sometimes wonder during those weeks when I hit 60+ non-billable hours whether it's all worth it (law joke), I haven't regretted my decision for a minute! I consider it the greatest privilege to be able to work with the future of our generation each day and I love it! I am currently working on a Masters in education at UC Berkeley and in my free time, I enjoy reading a good book over a hot espresso, hiking, jogging, snowboarding, playing sports and spending quality time with friends.Jeff Liu

This is my third year as a faculty member in Berkeley International High
School. I have taught sophomore year global history and comparative
economics and junior year History of the Americas HL. I cannot imagine a
better program to be part of than BIHS. Everything about it, from the
global focus of the curriculum, to my wonderful colleagues, to my amazing
students makes going to work a pleasure. When I'm not teaching my
classes, coordinating a fundraiser for BIHS leadership, or traveling
abroad on a service trip with my students, I enjoy hanging out with my
beautiful wife Sara and our adorable little boys, Robinson and William.Ross Parker:
